Continuous deployment is challenging because automating deployments across platforms has never been especially easy. Often platforms are customized to the point where it is difficult to automate application deployments—each platform is its own unique "snowflake." However, the growing complexity of application development projects coupled with increased reliance on software to drive digital business transformation initiatives and concerns over software supply chain integrity requires organizations to revisit their approach to application delivery.

In this discussion, we will share more about these challenges and how to better approach them.

Nick Durkin
Field CTO - Harness
Nick Durkin is Field CTO for Harness, the first software delivery platform to use AI to simplify DevOps processes, including CI, CD, feature flags, cloud costs, chaos engineering and much more. He is responsible for the organization's worldwide field engineering team, post-sales engineering team, and a portion of product. He previously held technical and executive roles at OverOps, DataTorrent, and Zelle (Early Warning), where he ran critical infrastructure for the United States government. He also served as lead architect for the Department of Homeland Security’s Financial Institution - Verifying Identity Credential Service (FIVICS) initiative, where he developed several patents for anti-fraud technologies that are currently in use not only by the federal government but also by some of the world's largest financial institutions. Nick has been recognized for his ability to help multiple early stage companies find market fit, get their first customers and build a team and strategy for growth and profitability.
Tommy McClung
CEO and Co-Founder - ReleaseHub
Tommy is currently the co-founder and CEO of ReleaseHub, a YC, Sequoia and CRV-backed environment-as-a-service company. Prior to that, Tommy was the CTO and CPO for TrueCar, where he managed the product and technology organizations of nearly 300 employees. Tommy joined TrueCar through the acquisition of CarWoo! an online automotive marketplace he co-founded. Prior to Carwoo! Tommy co-founded IMSafer and was the VP of Engineering. Tommy has extensive experience as a senior engineering executive, leading organizations through agile transformation.
Mike Bennett
Sr. Director of Engineering - Everbridge
I've worked in tech for over 25 years, the last 12 of which I've spent at xMatters working with some of the most talented and capable people I've ever known. Although I'm old enough to have worked on fixing the Y2K bug in the world of mainframe computer systems and monolithic on-premise software, I'm now working with cutting-edge, containerized microservices in the cloud. Originally from the UK, I now live on beautiful Vancouver Island and when I'm not sat in front of my computer, I'm working on growing my YouTube channel. If you can find it, I'd love to get past counting my subscribers in single digits.
Mike Vizard
Chief Content Officer - Techstrong Group
Mike Vizard is a seasoned IT journalist with over 25 years of experience. He also contributed to IT Business Edge, Channel Insider, Baseline and a variety of other IT titles. Previously, Vizard was the editorial director at Ziff-Davis Enterprise as well as editor-in-chief at CRN and InfoWorld.

What You’ll Learn in This Webinar

You’ve probably written a hundred abstracts in your day, but have you come up with a template that really seems to resonate? Go back through your past webinar inventory and see what events produced the most registrants. Sure – this will vary by topic but what got their attention initially was the description you wrote.

Paint a mental image of the benefits of attending your webinar. Often times this can be summarized in the title of your event. Your prospects may not even make it to the body of the message, so get your point across immediately.  Capture their attention, pique their interest, and push them towards the desired action (i.e. signing up for your event). You have to make them focus and you have to do it fast. Using an active voice and bullet points is great way to do this.

Always add key takeaways. Something like this....In this session, you’ll learn about:

  • You know you’ve cringed at misspellings and improper grammar before, so don’t get caught making the same mistake.
  • Get a second or even third set of eyes to review your work.
  • It reflects on your professionalism even if it has nothing to do with your event.
