Take a look here at devops.com for example, the majority of articles have “DevOps” in the title. This is the case across pretty much all DevOps related sites across the web.
This suggests an immaturity in the space. There is not yet a strong consensus on what the term DevOps means and what its domain actually is. I suspect this is going to correct itself over time but how rapidly depends on the DevOps community and how much information we can get out there. So looks like we need to hear about DevOps as a term for a little while longer.
I suspect in 6 months to a year we will start to see articles about specific technology and practices and it will just be obvious to us that this relates to DevOps. Ironically this article has 231 words and uses the term DevOps 14 times.
