Gartner’s evaluation of application release orchestration (ARO) products is based on use cases surrounding release orchestration; pipeline and environment management; and deployment automation
SAN JOSE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–CloudBees, the enterprise DevOps leader powering the continuous economy, today announced CloudBees (Electric Cloud*) received the highest scores for all three use cases defined in Gartner’s 2019 Critical Capabilities for Application Release Orchestration (ARO)1. CloudBees Flow 9.0 (Electric Cloud ElectricFlow) placed highest in each use case for the second straight year, with two of the use case evaluations increasing over the prior-year period.
Gartner’s process evaluates products on a five-point scale. CloudBees (Electric Cloud) received highest scores from Gartner across all use cases in the 2019 Critical Capabilities for Application Release Orchestration (ARO): Release Manager (4.9/5), Application/Product Owner (4.9/5), DevOps/Application Operations Team Member (4.9/5).
“ARO tools enable DevOps teams to automate application deployments, manage continuous integration/continuous delivery pipelines and orchestrate release workflows,” noted Daniel Betts, Chris Saunderson, Christopher Little and Hassan Annaciri in the Gartner Critical Capabilities for Application Release Orchestration. “I&O leaders must assess the capabilities of these tools to improve application delivery cadence and support digital business initiatives.”
CloudBees Flow is the industry’s first unified Application Resource Orchestration platform built for DevOps at enterprise scale. CloudBees Flow helps drive IT efficiency by automating and orchestrating software releases, pipelines and deployments with the analytics and insight to measure, track and improve results.
This vision and current product leadership, along with notable enterprise customer successes, makes CloudBees the de facto standard for enterprise ARO. Market leaders choose CloudBees Flow because it provides:
- A way to implement and share secure, repeatable and adaptable pipelines to deliver mainframe, monolithic and microservices applications
- Unprecedented, actionable insight into the health and status of enterprise releases, without requiring manual data collection and analysis

“In today’s competitive business climate, everyone shares a common goal: to deliver better software, faster and more securely. CloudBees is committed to helping our customers have a software delivery management system that helps them connect and measure all end-to-end activities and realize their vision of becoming software-first companies,” said Sacha Labourey, CEO and co-founder of CloudBees. “Our focus is paying off: CloudBees once again was ranked the highest scores across all use cases in the Gartner’s 2019 Critical Capabilities for Application Release Orchestration and positioned as a four-time Leader in Gartner’s 2019 Magic Quadrant for Automation Release Orchestration.”
