When Eric's parents told him that if he graduated with "all A's" he could have any gift he wanted, naturally he requested a dirt bike. When the big day came, you can imagine his disappointment when he received a computer instead. That childhood disappointment kicked off decades of exploration, tinkering, and what would become a passionate pursuit of
knowledge.
Eric spent the first part of his career as an engineer focused mostly on backend servers and APIs. Eventually he got tired of 18+hr deployments and thought, "There's got to be a better way!?" That question led him to adopting DevOps practices and he soon found himself working for the Seattle-based DevOps startup, Chef Software. In 2018 Eric joined Google and was a Customer Engineer working with both digital native startups and the largest enterprises Southern California had to offer. Eric then joined the Global Solutions team and was responsible for Google's DevOps transformation program dubbed CAMP which utilizes DORA to help companies accelerate their software delivery capabilities. Recently, Eric has relocated to Europe to lead the Application Modernization Solutions and Technology practice and is still an active participant in the DORA Core Team.
