SANTA CLARA, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Digital business transformation is driving line of business (LOB) to adopt rapid application development and deployment methodologies, such as DevOps. To stay ahead of the competition and adapt to rapidly changing customer and market demands, businesses and governments must automate and continuously adjust key processes. To do so, companies are increasingly developing their own applications to improve internal productivity and enhance customer engagement. Today, Citrix announced NetScaler CPX Express, a free developer version of NetScaler CPX, which is a NetScaler in a container form factor that delivers a battle-tested load balancer for developers to create microservices applications.

Quotes

Brad Casemore, Research Director, Data Center Networks, IDC

“With the rise of DevOps and microservices, developers increasingly are concerned with reliable application delivery as well as with application development. Unfortunately, at the inception of many projects, developers do not always have access to a full-featured ADC. With the introduction of the NetScaler CPX Express, Citrix is responding to that developer need and helping to accelerate the speed at which microservices-based applications can advance from development to deployment.”

Anthony Shaw, Head of Innovation, Dimension Data ITaaS

“Citrix continues to drive innovation forward with the introduction of NetScaler CPX Express. It offers developers and DevOps engineers a free containerized load balancer for layer 4-7 services based on NetScaler, which is ideal for creating microservices or containerized applications. Developers can pave the way for the conversion of monolithic applications into containerized or microservices applications by using the same NetScaler functionality that exists in production in the datacenter for application development and all the way through to production.”

Ash Chowdappa, Vice President and General Manager, NetScaler, Citrix

“Citrix is continually innovating to deliver solutions for traditional IT as well as emerging ADC requirements of DevOps and developer communities. With our market-leading NetScaler ADC platform, we are empowering developers to build, test and deploy apps all on a single integrated, scalable and secure platform. NetScaler CPX Express enables developers to drive applications into full-scale production quicker than any other alternative available today.”
