DevOps/Cloud-Native Live! Boston

As senior strategist for the new practice, DeArdo will lead efforts to help customers experience project to product transformations.  The practice utilizes the “Project to Product” Flow Framework concepts based on Tasktop CEO Mik Kersten’s upcoming book to help organizations better understand, identify efficiencies and optimize their value streams for each software product in the delivery pipeline.

Tasktop’s VSM Consulting Practice benefits include the following:

  • Provides visibility into the flow of business value across product value streams
  • Offers better understanding of where bottlenecks exist
  • Provides ability to analyze the development of optimization initiatives
  • Enables capacity to measure the impact of optimization initiatives

DeArdo is a regular speaker at global DevOps events and is finalizing his latest book: Standing On Shoulders: A Leader’s Guide to Digital Transformation, which will be released later this year. Previously, as DevOps leader, technology director at Nationwide Insurance, he was responsible for driving continuous delivery utilizing DevOps, Lean and Agile practices. He was recognized by DevOps.com as a winner for 2016 Successful DevOps Transformation and was also named as one of the 25 must follow enterprise DevOps leaders by TechBeacon.  Prior to joining Nationwide, DeArdo worked at Bell Labs on systems such as Advanced 800 and messaging, where he received three patents.  Recently, DeArdo presented with Nicole Bryan, VP of product management, Tasktop, on the concept of moving from Project to Product Centric Delivery at DOES18 EUR.

“I have long been impressed by Carmen’s vision for digital transformations,” stated Kersten. “From his systems thinking foundations at Bell Labs, to his thought leadership in the enterprise DevOps community, Carmen has been a major influence and inspiration to me and I am thrilled that he will be leading our new Value Stream Management consulting practice.  Carmen’s focus and expertise on how to build an employee and customer-obsessed culture with an organizational structure that drives flow and efficiency is a perfect match with our company philosophy.”

“I am excited to work with Tasktop on accelerating flow to better serve customers,” said DeArdo. “As head of the VSM Consulting Practice, I aspire to help customers integrate Value Stream Management into their organizations to they can transform Agile development environments into real digital business drivers.”
