Flowroute Launches Communication Application Program to Accelerate the Integration of Calling and Messaging into the Customer Experience

By: Jules Louis on August 8, 2016 1 Comment

SEATTLE, WA and CHICAGO, IL – August 8, 2016 – Flowroute Inc., the leading provider of advanced calling and messaging services for SaaS companies, today introduced its Flowroute Communication Application Program. The program designed to help developers accelerate time-to-market, reduce development costs, and remove the barriers of delivering carrier-grade messaging capabilities within their applications and services. The first three application modules, written in Python, include phone number masking, two-factor authentication, and appointment reminders.

Flowroute was created with the goal to give organizations unparalleled control over their customer communications. The program is designed to speed the implementation of SMS messaging into applications, enabling developers to focus on producing compelling user experiences. The initial application containers include:

  • Phone number masking – Through SMS proxying, developers can buy and provision from a pool of text-enabled phone numbers to anonymously bridge concurrent buyer-seller interactions. This is essential in marketplace application use cases which require anonymous communication via text messaging.
  • Two-factor authentication – This provides an extra layer of security for users by applying two-factor authentication within web and mobile applications. By providing developers with a high degree of configurability, interactions are secured by sending and validating a PIN via SMS.
  • Appointment reminders – Developers can enable applications to send appointment reminders and confirmation messages to users via SMS.

Flowroute is introducing the application containers at ClueCon 2016 in Chicago this week. Casey MacPhee, the Program’s lead developer will be demonstrating applications utilizing the modules on Thursday, August 11 from 4:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. CT.

“Our goal as a company is to make advanced communications easier and more accessible to the developer community. The Flowroute Communication Application Program came to fruition as a result of our experience helping our customers with these valuable use cases,” said Sean Hsieh, founder and chief product officer at Flowroute. “We are excited to continue to add new applications to the program that developers can leverage to differentiate their user experiences.”

Additionally, Hsieh will be presenting a session titled, “Making Flowroute’s SMS Work For You”, where he will demonstrate how to integrate the company’s SMS API into communication platforms such as FreeSWITCH.

Developers can access the application containers and documentation at the Flowroute Developer Portal.
