Datree, the GitOps management platform, has partnered with CircleCI, the leading automated Continuous Integration and Delivery system. As a CircleCI Technology Partner, datree has released CircleCI Orbs to help companies achieve technical excellence and improve production stability. Datree’s first CircleCI orb helps companies keep control of their package versioning, ensuring that only stable, approved software versions are pushed to production.
CircleCI automates the deployment of software, taking the code in a repository, building it, testing it and then pushing it live to a staging or production environment. CircleCI introduced Orbs to make it easy to configure the platform to work with other tools.
Datree is a centralized policy engine that works at the Git control level, automatically checking every pull request before it’s merged into production. Datree helps developers to follow best practices, preventing mistakes or misconfigurations from ever being included in a repo.
Datree’s Orb for CircleCI brings datree’s advanced features to the entire CI/CD pipeline. For example, developers can use the datree Orb to align and control versions of packages across different repositories, projects and teams. Specific examples include:
- UI package versioning alignment, stopping discrepancies between different versions of the same package UI components across different projects.
- Internal package versioning alignment, ensuring the same up-to-date version of an internal package is in use across different projects.
- Open source, letting developers create a blacklist of risky versions of specific open source packages.
“CircleCI makes build, testing and deployment easy and fast,” said datree CEO Arthur Shmunk. “We’re excited to partner with CircleCI to an Orb for datree’s Git-level gatekeeper, giving developers control over their repositories and code at all stages in the Software development and deployment process”
